Adoption Paperwork:
No updates… haven’t heard from the senator’s office or from the USCIS. So once we get our act together and find some energy, we will start over again. I wish we could hand deliver it for the second round, but going to Texas isn’t in the cards right now.

Schools:
We have started the process of researching schools/day-care and visiting them. We have found some good options for the fall, but we might have to figure out a temp plan for September/October as the one we like the most doesn’t accept the kids until 30-months. But we are still working through the options, so we will see how this all turns out. I don’t know how people decide public vs. private, etc… once the kids get older. These decisions are big and knowing you are impacting an entire life/future is tough. Joe is a public school employee, and we live in a really good district – but we also have a pretty great option for a French/American school, which would be pretty special (we will just have to work until we are 90 years old!) J I just don’t want to mess up on the education piece of his life…

Samuel’s Eating:
Well, we have been putting our dinner meals in a bowl in front of him (while also feeling him Mac & cheese) --- just to let him play around and possibly try something new. He is eating cous-cous now… though he avoided everything around the cous-cous! He will also eat rice (no beans) and will eat plain spaghetti. He weighed 22.4 this morning, which the calculators tell me is less than the 3rd percentile for his age. He goes in for his 2-year checkup next week…

Bethany Auction:We will be the guest speakers at the Portland Bethany Christian Services silent auction this coming Thursday (5/13.) We will show the “coming home” video and then just talk a little bit about the adjustments and home. We are hoping the little one behaves himself long enough for us to get through the evening!
Joe Swimming:
Joe has been slowly but surely working his way back into swimming shape as he, Scott & Matt will be swimming from the Alcatraz to San Fran (Sharkfest) on June 5th. They are going to drive down to SF, do the swim and then drive back. I know 2 things: 1) I would die of hypothermia 2) I would drown.
