Gifts and Ice Horses

We got 2 packages in the mail!

The first one was from the Gianotti's - Samuel got some cute books! The Gianotti's used to live near us (we met them through another family) but they ended up moving to the other side of Portland. We were so excited to hear from them - they have been following our story this whole time. And they actually are the ones who helped hook us up with our current babysitter - who lives right down the road from us!  Thanks Gianotti's!!! 

The second was from my mom! She sent some really cute summer outfits to take to Kauai... LOVE THEM! Thanks so much mom!!

And then the drama...

Samuel treats one of our cats (Scout) like a younger brother. He picks on him and yanks his tail... you know the drill. The cat is actually VERY patient with him and rarely fights back. However, Samuel pushed it a little far this time and the cat scratched his face. We got the scream, the pout face and then the holding of the breath... (he waits about 5 seconds before he lets it out.)

So I hugged him - and then remembered the "ice horse" mom had got him for his boo-boos. I wasn't sure what he would think of a cold stuffed animal on his face... but for whatever reason it seemed to work! I guess these marketing dudes have actually done their homework... :-)
