Here are a few pics thus far...
The plane ride from Seattle to Lihue went okay... it wasn't "perfect" - but if I had known that would be how it went before we started, I would have said "no problem, we can do that!" Samuel slept for a couple of hours, watched a Thomas movie, played with the bag of goodies I brought and we just walked him up the aisle a couple of times. Honestly, looking back, he did great...
We arrived at 7:10pm Hawaiian time (and were exhausted) but we decided to hit Wal-Mart on our way so we wouldn't have to backtrack today and could just take it easy. We got to the hotel around 8:45pm and pretty much crashed. We all slept like rocks! (We ended up getting a room with 2 queens beds, which worked out super.) We are only here 2 nights before heading to the timeshare, so we are good to go.
Today - we are taking it easy, hanging out by the pool and just relaxing. We went on a long walk this morning (I went to the gym because I woke up and couldn't sleep anymore...) and then we got a Starbucks and took a few photos. We are now are packing up for the pool - it is a bit rainy right now, but that will change quickly, as it is Kauai - supposed to be 87 today.
We also just got a call from Larry King's producer and they wanted to do a follow-up story on us Monday with Larry (it will be the 6-month anniversary of the Haiti earthquake.) She wanted to come up to Portland for a interview at our house, which would have been so fun (to see her, as we love her!) So, bummer... Unless they want to shoot from Kauai, I guess that's not going to work, eh?
