We have now transitioned to the timeshare (which is just up the road from our hotel.) The views always make my heart happy when we walk through the door. They can't be beat... Samuel decided his favorite place is definitely on the balcony where he can see the ocean and watch the birds.
Tonight we ate "in" (risotto, asparagus, broccoli, mushrooms w/ shrimp & ciabatta bread.) We are now just hanging out, and enjoying the evening. We spent the day at the Marriott pool again, so we are ready to veg out for awhile. But the breeze is coming in through the balcony sliders, the sun is still shining, the palms are swaying and we can hear the birds in the background... I took Samuel on a short walk up the road (we call it baby beach - just a little, hidden, secluded beach along the road.) And we watched the surfers and waves. He was cute as he sidled up next to me, put his hand on my shoulder and had to "squat" down with me.
Last year we missed coming to Kauai, as Haiti trips were the priority for us! But there has been construction and "work" going on since we were here in 2008... So, up the road, there is now a massive golf course and also a new shopping center on the turn-off to our condo. I guess in some ways I appreciate progress... but as well - not so much. Kauai is quiet and we like it that way. But I can't be too negative as there are some nice things about the changes too...
Dinner on the balcony...
He DOES eat risotto, but that's about it!
He LOVES the balcony...
Our direct view
Joe was picking on him... or maybe it was the other way around!
He just wanted to be near me. I love moments like these.

What a wonderful view you have from your Condo. No wonder Sam loves to play on the balcony, that is where I would spend my time (if not on the beach, or by the pool). Dinner looked great too. Now to another day and new adventures, has Joe scuba dived yet? I think Sam should snorkle, that would be a treat. Love Mom
