Ah.... Feels Like Fall...

So many things for which to be thankful…

1) It is Friday! My favorite evening of the week!  It has been one really busy/long week at work, with our stategic planning sessions going on in CA, so to be "at home" tonight is peaceful.

2) It was a beautiful, sunny evening and we were able to go on a really enjoyable walk before a "later" dinner. We were all in a good mood (it is Friday after all!) and we had a nice, slow walk – just taking everything in.

3) We had fun making dinner tonight. There are times when it would just be “easier” NOT to have Samuel involved, but he LOVES to “help” and I know, in the end, we will all be better off having shared the experience. And… he had so much fun tonight - I gave him a butter knife and let him “cut” the mushrooms for our stir-fry!  So… they weren’t exactly cut like we normally do it, but who cares! They still tasted the same, right?! :-)

OTHER:  Update on the next paperwork saga (we keep thinking it's over!)  We are now working on “US re-adoption.” We wouldn’t even bother except that getting him this would allow his birth certificate to be on file in Oregon (think of the times you have needed a birth certificate and needed a certified copy… if we needed that from Haiti – forget it.) And it will also allow us to officially change his name to Samuel. So we need to get this done before we apply for the SSN and passport. More notaries and trips to the courthouse… Coordinating all of this is next to impossible with our work schedules.

Anyway - we are looking forward to our weekend… and feel blessed tonight, that God gave us Samuel.

  1. He's adorable. We've done our citizenship but have accomplished nothing toward their readoption.
