I guess I should be a "tad bit" stressed that my son only got 1 out of 8 colors correct.. but in the scheme of what we have gone through (actually... what HE has gone through - and where he is now…) the below email just made me smile BIG today (is that bad of me?!) The results were so "Samuel."
But I guess we need to work colors… J
Another thought I had after reading this was that I felt so BLESSED to have him at Bright Horizons… I know that each day he is truly learning new things and being challenged by his teachers (thanks Pamela, Leanne and Sherrie.) Each day when I drop him off there are new toys, puzzles and items set out, waiting for the kids to "examine" (this morning it was magnets!) And he isn't just being "watched" but instead learning how to socialize, learning manners and how to properly function in the world. Joe and I feel so good about the decision we made about this daycare/school…
Oh, and BTW, didn't you know?! BLUE is the new GREEN!!! J
TUESDAY UPDATE
Match the Color! October 2010
For this project we put out eight pieces of colored paper on a table. Then we put out eight different colored mini blocks. Each child was given the opportunity separately to put two blocks down on the paper that best matches the colored paper. Then as a group we all put the colored blocks onto the colored paper that best matched. The children did a wonderful job! After they were all done the children went back into the classroom for free play. One of the teachers sat down with each child separately to ask them what each color was. Your child's results will be e-mailed to you.
Here are those results (be prepared to laugh!) J

He did wonderful at matching! |
Ellie answers all color questions with "I dunno." Sometimes she'll accidentally show she knows a couple colors, but she likes to keep it secret. --Karen
