Arizona: Latest Update

We are having a really good time... Samuel definitely likes "routines" so we pretty much follow the same agenda each day. Here is the basic outline:
  • Samuel wakes up around 6:30am
  • Samuel eats his yogurt
  • We got for a long run/walk to the coffee shop
  • We enjoy a coffee and walk back
  • We get Samuel in his swim clothes - and we trade off with him in the pool until noon (while the other stays with Luke.)
  • At around 3pm, Samuel hits the pool again!
  • Then it's time for dinner... and maybe a late walk or drive.
It's "spirit week" at the local high school, so we have been seeing the kids dressed up each morning. Yesterday it was "crazy color" day so we tried to have Samuel get a picture with two of the high school girls (he didn't seem too happy in the picture - but in reality, he was just being shy at the moment.)

This is really a nice way to vacation (the house helps make it perfect.) Staying here is a good forcing function to just relax, because there aren't a lot of things to do - except spend time together. And honestly, this is what I really needed, given my time at home is almost over. It has been good for me to just hang out and not worry about the typical house "to-do" list... It's better for me to be holding Luke or playing in the pool with Samuel. We really enjoy our morning walk/runs and playing together in the pool. Samuel has also been having fun helping to make meals - he really wants to participate in the process.

We will leave for Portland on Saturday, so we still have a couple more days to enjoy this fun and relaxing lifestyle! Woo-hoo...
