Today is the first day of being "on my own," post our fantastic summer with the boys. What a blessing that we could share that time together... It was hard knowing it was coming to and end last night. HOWEVER... I can't complain just yet as we still have some good together-time coming up. Joe will work for 2 more weeks and then he will take his 12 weeks of FMLA. I won't go back to work until October 10th, so we still have some overlap time coming up... we plan to use that for our vacation.
Joe called and said he is off to a good start with his classroom today... that was good to hear.
I dropped off Samuel this morning at his new school - it was really tough. Samuel was so sad and forlorn for some reason. He just stood there, looking around with his big brown eyes and asked me where I was going. It broke my heart… I tried to get him to push me out the door, but he just stood there staring... SIGH. He has been going here all summer, so not sure what the deal was. I guess he just knows how to tug at my heart...
So, Luke and I are hanging out today. He was all smiles a bit ago, so I grabbed the Flip cam and took a quick video of the moment. He has just started smiling/cooing - which is so very special (and I couldn't resist sharing with everyone!)
