We had a fine time celebrating birthday number ONE! I rushed home from work so that I could head to the store with M&D to pickup a cake, balloons and anything else that might contribute making a first b-day more festive (yes, I was totally late in planning... but that is pretty much the way life is right now!) But it all came together just fine - even the weather cooperated!
Luke didn't even think twice about digging into his cake. He made quite a mess (boy did we enjoy watching him!) I then took him for a quick bath and he opened his gifts (Samuel also had a special gift from M&D to enjoy!)

I still cannot believe a year has gone by... A year ago tonight, little Luke was taken to the NICU... Hard to believe he has come so far and is doing so well!
Tomorrow is the boys last day of school - out for the summer! Joe gets home on Saturday and will hang out with them for the next couple of months... Special times.
