Canceled Flight, Donuts & Pool!

A very long day indeed... I was supposed to fly to Dallas, TX this morning for a big event for work. However, when we got to PDX (at 7:15am, yes, boys in tow) we found out the flight was canceled. I called, waited, waited some more... and then the agency re-booked through Seattle... then I waited some more (while Joe and the boys went home.) No seat assigned & standby... not on flight. So ended up taking MAX home... with no other options, given the next schedule put me in Dallas late Monday, there was really no point to it - I would have missed too much. Thanks to grandma Bonnie for being ready to head on over here - sorry for the last-minute cancel.

The only interesting point of the airport frustrating was that I saw Martina McBride - ahead of me in first class, or course... with her entourage of people.

So under nervousness... I decided to bake. And fortunately my friend Cathleen had sent me a nice package in the mail with a donut pan and special flour!!! So I made donuts for the first time. I was a bit concerned about how they would turn out, but it was easy and they tasted great! THANKS CATHLEEN!

However, I LOVED being able to be home this afternoon... after naptime (and after I was finally home) we all headed to the pool (it finally got warm around 3pm.) And had the best time with the boys - the pool was virtually empty and we had a really nice time playing - and I even worked on baby Luke on "how to relax and enjoy the moment in the chair." And even though I was on my phone much of the time, as I had to walk "the guys" through the booth setup & event logistics (given I wasn't in Dallas) - it was still a better way to spend the time than at home (our summer is quickly coming to an end and we need to seize every opportunity!)
