We went on a long walk to start off our day... and then we headed into Phoenix to "Enchanted Island" - which I had looked up and saw there was a train to ride. We thought the kids might enjoy that, as well as some other rides. However, when we arrived, we realized we had forgotten Luke's shoes (good grief!) We both thought the other had grabbed them when we left the house... so we spend an hour searching (in a not so great part of town) for anyplace that would have cheap kids shoes... NOTHING! Finally Joe pulled into some awful, run-down place called "Momo Mart" and went in and found some hideous slip-ons for $1. Not the place I would normally choose to shop for my family, but it did the trick in a pinch!
The kids had a great time on the train and Luke was even tall enough to ride on one of the rides with Samuel. It was so odd watching our "little baby Luke" go around without a grown-up by his side! We didn't stick around all that long, but it was enough for the kids to enjoy...
This afternoon it was more pool-time and grilled pork tenderloin for dinner. We then headed out to Main Street for some yummy gelato - and topped it off with some evening playtime at the park.
