Lake Chelan, Arrival Day!

The trip here was looooong.... well, long when you have 3 kids 5 and under. But they did pretty well - given we stopped a couple of times. We finally stopped at the Maryhill Museum and the Maryhill Winery (have been wanting to do that for YEARS!) And the drive here was actually beautiful. We are so used to being on "autopilot" with the I-84 drive to La Grande (my parents house) so it was different to head north toward Yakima.

We were not disappointed once we finally arrived... the place is going to work well for us. The view is FANTASTIC and whoever is staying in the condo with Rachel can see down to the pool where the others will be playing, so that is great. It also has a little café, which is going to be perfect for us.

We went on a quick drive of the town after dinner and it's quaint. We were wishing we were "sans" kids for a night so we could enjoy of the restaurants/pubs! (Maybe in 10 years or so...!)  It's a cute town - and as small as it is, even has a Starbucks (whew!)

We have plans to go for a long walk (Starbucks as a part of that plan) in the morning and then just hang out here for the day.  It's a perfect place to do that...  pool, lake, docks, cafe, etc...

Traveling with 3 little ones isn't easy, but I think this is going to be worth the effort... (but stay tuned!)  :-)

  1. Bats eat mosquitos. Millions of them. Wish we had more here. We do have some, down at the river after dark. Have fun.
