At Peace in Arizona

Today we started out with our run to the coffee shop via the trail and some side streets. We got a little turned-around, but you can’t stray too far in this community, so we eventually got there! And it was a beautiful morning, so we didn’t mind. We enjoyed our coffee and then also grabbed a few small items from the grocery store. We then walked with Sam (and Bob) our way back home. (BTW – does BOB stand for “baby on board?” We just made that possible connection today – doh!”)

We stopped at one point on the trail and just listened. The desert is full of cool sounds… I think we might try to record it tomorrow because it was so peaceful. We also saw prairie dogs, quail, a lot of rabbits and lizards again! I took some pictures along the way to share…

Once we got back home, Joe headed back to the rec center and got some lap swimming in (he needed that training for his Alcatraz swim that is next weekend!) So Samuel and I went to the pool and played for a couple of hours. I was SO PROUD of him, as he was kicking and going under water (eyes open) and holding his breath for about 3 seconds! He hasn’t mastered the arm part of it yet, but he is doing awesome! (Well - I guess this is coming from someone who is NOT a swimmer, so who knows!)  We had a lot of fun just hanging out together.

We enjoyed the rest of the day, doing what we did yesterday. TOTAL PEACE! Perfect… Once Samuel was up from his nap, we got in some more water time and then decided to go on a drive to the town of Buckeye. It’s actually much bigger than I anticipated… and I have to say that we went into the best Wal-Mart I have ever been in – massive and new. So it took us awhile to find a few things we needed…

Then it was home for dinner…. Joe grilled outside, while I enjoyed preparing the side dishes in the gourmet kitchen (man, I wish it were mine!) :-)

Wishing we had some good company to share in this wonderful day! Any takers? We have one more day here!
