We just had the generic update from Samuel’s teacher… and shortly after, the below email popped into my inbox.
This update gives me hope that there is a light at the end of the tunnel… I am encouraged and thankful it has been a better day for him. I sure hope the trend continues!

Jill, I just wanted to let you know that Samuel is doing quiet well today. He had is first Music-with-Rain, and liked the fact he was able to select a musical shaker instrument from Rain's basket of stuff to use. He didn't really shake the instrument, but liked to hold it. He did really well at music he sat on the stairs and a few other children set next to him and then there I was a few children away. I took that as progress to getting settled here. When we came to the room I set something outside the door and Samuel acted like he as going to shut the door on me and he laughed. On the playground he continued to climb up and down the slide. In the gym he was rolling a ball down the slide. Sat well for circle while I set up for lunch and got the mats out. Only time he was getting a bit sad, was towards the end of lunch an after his noon diaper change, I think he might have been sleepy. I'm really impressed by him today. He is a very helpful child, was giving “R” a paper towel to help him dry his hands. Mondays are a bit more difficult than the rest for most children. But he is doing better and growing used to Sherrie, Pam and myself, along with the other children in the room. I hope this bit of information helps. We will see either you or Joe this afternoon.
