I took Samuel for a short walk around the block" this morning. He had fun looking at wild flowers and watching his shadow. He heard a dog barking and started to run as fast as he could (I captured a series of pictures, but didn't want to bore you with too many photos!) :-)
We said our good-bye's to Joe's folks… and then got on the road. Joe decided to take the long route home today… it is much more scenic (but we normally don't go that way as it adds quite a lot of time - to the already 3.5 hour trip.) But we decided it was a nice day and we weren't in a rush. It was really pretty out today... we stopped off at a couple of places along the way: First stop - Starbucks! Then went to Awbrey Butte in Bend (where Joe's parents used to live so that we could view the mountains) and we also stopped off at this neat observatory (on the mountain pass) made of rocks and climed to the top!
Samuel did GREAT and was so patient… until we were about 20 minutes out of Portland. We smelled it first… he grinned and then started plugging his nose (pics below!) Fortunately there was a rest stop in 2 miles! WHEW! :-)
We are now at home… unpacked and thinking about ordering take-out! Tired out… but it was a really nice weekend. Thanks to B&S for making our stay so nice.
