We have had a wonderful weekend with my parents...
This weekend would not have happened except that we were invited to FLY in an airplane from Aurora, OR to La Grande, OR by one of Joe's co-workers (THANK YOU Teena and Todd!) It was amazing and a beautiful day for flying (a 5.5 hour drive took us about 40 minutes to fly!!!) AND Samuel loved every minute of it! Airplanes ARE his world... There was another two-year old on the plane with us, so Samuel got to make a new friend too!
M&D picked us up on Friday (about 7pm) and we have spent the weekend getting some rest/relaxation and enjoying some "farm" type-of-things! Samuel got his very first tractor ride with Grandpa, he picked and shucked his first ear of corn and we have enjoyed some great meals! He also enjoyed meeting the cute little kittens and the local deer "pod" came to visit us! AND... Joe and I got a "date" and we were able to go on an hour long run/walk up the "dirt road" and take in some beautiful scenery (during Samuel's naptime today!) We also got to meet with the local newspaper reporter who has covered Samuel's story since the earthquake hit Haiti (and he has done an amazing job telling our story...) He also covered me while in high school sports, so it has been fun to re-connect!
Tomorrow? We have plans to meet the cute little goats next door! I LOVE goats... I don't care what Samuel thinks abou them (though I am sure they will make his day.) And then we will get back on the airplane and head back to Portland.

Tonight? It's about playing Yahtzee, eating apple pie and just enjoying time with my parents... It will be tough to leave tomorrow.
