We had another ER adventure last night... I got a call late in the afternoon yesterday that Luke was running a fever and needed to be picked up. Poor little Luke's temperature got up to 103.8 and we just weren't comfortable waiting to see his pediatrician, so we headed to the ER after dinner last night. The doctor thinks it is ear-infection related, but he didn't want to give him any additional antibiotics "yet." We did make note that the ER definitely "favors" babies... we were in and out of there in no time (well, no time is relative in the ER - it was still pretty long.) But I felt pretty bad as we were walking out (all done) and the people who had been waiting BEFORE we had arrived were still sitting there in pain and suffering. Not sure I agree with that whole process, but it worked to our benefit last night (I know I would have something stronger to say if it were me waiting to get in!)
ANYWAY...
Samuel was very "perky" this morning, despite the late bedtime start (given the ER trip) AND the fact that he woke up twice last night, wanting to "snuggle." How on earth do you turn that down, may I ask?! :-) So I snuggled... And Luke was up most of the night, so there wasn't a lot of rest happening. And apparently he decided he needed to tuck Spiderman into his blanket before he left for school this morning. I thought that was pretty darn cute!
Last but not least... pictures of Luke crawling. A new word for him is just plain DETERMINED. This baby wants to be in control and wants nothing in his way. He is keeping us very busy lately, but he sure is cute! And let it be noted that my arm muscles are in great shape from carrying him around! :-) I just hope that he starts feeling better soon - I hate to see him sick.
I have no intention of being a parent who plops her kid in front of the TV - in fact, I hate that! However, sometimes Luke simply wears me out and I need to find things for him to do so that I can get out of being "his personal taxi." So these pictures are of him watching "Baby Einstein." He was quite intrigued (for a long time) with the sights and sounds. I promise I won't make it a habit - but my arms sure appreciated it!

Jill, We are doing well! And your family has grown! What beautiful little boys you have. And no lack of adventures, I see! God bless!!
ReplyDeleteWow, your boys are soo incredibly adorable. Both of them. I love seeing your updates and hope maybe sometime, since I am not at "your" school anymore, I might get to see them again. Take care!
