Joe had just left the house for a Starbucks run. I was sitting in the kitchen, at my laptop, doing bills…
I heard Samuel making a ruckus, coming up the stairs. Baby Luke was still asleep (and I was trying to keep it that way) so I “softly” yelled at Samuel to please “keep it down.” But he kept making a “clunk” noise, so I said it again… But I could tell he was struggling with something, so I [somewhat angrily] went over to the stairs, thinking he was just being noisy for no good reason.
But… boy did my heart feel bad when I realized what he was doing.
He had gotten into the dryer, put all the clothes in the basket and was attempting to carry the basket up stairs!
This is one awesome kid. He hasn’t ever attempted this by himself before – nor had we talked about him doing this. He just wanted to help.
How did we get so blessed?
