Thanksgiving!

We were supposed to go to Bend (to Joe's parents) for Thanksgiving. But the weather didn't cooperate for the mountain passes, so we decided to stay at home. I really had no intention of cooking a traditional TG dinner given we hadn't really planned anything... However, Joe asked if we could make a turkey, which then meant we needed to make the whole meal.

The challenging part of this is that even though I am almost 41-years-old, I have NEVER made a turkey (pathetic, huh?!)  I have always "helped" make the meal, but never took ownership of it. So we figured if we messed it up, we would throw the darn turkey out and only we would know about it.  But to our pleasant surprise, fortunately, everything turned out fine!  (WHEW... we did it!)   I still think it's a lot of work for a meal that gets consumed in 30-minutes or less (not to mention the cleanup...)  But I digress....

We turned on the Macy's Day Parade and I was surprised at how much Samuel enjoyed watching it. The boys danced to the music, we found Spiderman and Santa, so all was good!

And this morning - Black Friday? Joe and I started a tradition about 6-years ago to get up early and go to Macy's, etc... It was more about the fun of doing something different and getting a Starbucks and roaming the stores. We even managed to hold on to this tradition once we had Samuel at home - and we did it last year when Luke was still a baby.  However, it's more challenging with a 17-month old... So Joe (bless his heart) got up at 4:30am and went to B-Mart and Target to get specific items, while I stay at home and let the boys sleep...

Happy Thanksgiving 2012!

Enjoying eggs...
