"Passengers Only Beyond This Point"

Good-Bye's are Really Hard...

Yesterday was Grandma Sharon's last day with us...

We went to church and heard a really good sermon and then we all decided to hang out on the back patio and spend time together. We watched the boys play on bikes, we snuggled with Rachel and cheered on Joe as he re-potted some plants. It was a nice way to spend the afternoon - though sort of melancholy too.

We headed to the Amtrak station in the late afternoon and made sure we got mom off on the right train, etc... (it was one busy station yesterday!) When we got to the point of separation, I think we were all sort of sad in our hearts. The sign said it all:  Passengers Only Beyond This Point.

She waved our good-byes and then headed home. Samuel was in tears the whole way home - just not sure how to deal with the emotions.

We sure are going to miss you mom!

Samuel was still really sad and "down" when we put Luke down for bed, so we decided we would share some happy news with him (we had been waiting for it to get closer to the event...) We shared with him that on August 19th, I am going to take him to Disneyland for 3 nights! (I had some miles and points available, so a couple months ago Joe and I planned a trip for the two of us.) He was SO excited, which made our hearts happy... And I have to say, I am excited too! :-)
