Sun, Chickens & Friends!

We had another fun day yesterday... we went on a long walk and enjoyed that once again. I then had to be on a work call, but we made our way through that just fine... And then it was time to hit the pool again. I am working really hard on being "active and engaged" with Samuel. So if he asks to dive for golf balls or play w/ water rockets - then so be it. We had a fun time playing...

I then promised him I would take him up to the Blow Hole, where he could chase the chickens! Unfortunately the tide was low, so the Blow Hole didn't deliver, but that's okay - the chicken-chasing was a success!

My plan was to go from there, directly to the airport to pickup Kate! Wouldn't you know it - Rachel had a nasty diaper at the Blow Hole, where there is no changing station and no soap! So I changed her in the car (NOT EASY!) and used wipes to get through the mess. She also decided at that point that she was NOT into car seats... our trip to Lihue was not bad, but she wasn't very happy.

But knowing we were picking Kate up was well-worth it! It was so much fun to see her plane land and give big hugs when she landed! YAY. Unfortunately Rachel SCREAM-CRIED the entire trip home (this is so not her usual, sweet, demeanor!) We did the best we could, but ended up stopping in Koloa for dinner - we just felt bad for her and decided going to Poipu was too far at that moment. She was great at dinner though - and crashed once we arrived home! I think she is just tired, adjusting to new places and under new schedules. Poor girl....

Anyway - kids are still sleeping, though will be up soon. We are planning to go on a walk and then probably hang out at the pool today! SO FUN to have my friend here!!!! It has been too long.
