"Case is Moving Forward"

Just in from our senators office!   Whitney has been our contact since January – we made contact with her when we didn’t know where else to turn.  She has been the one keeping my type-A personality normalized and in check!  She has made the calls, researched steps and worked with the right people to keep us on track in our quest to get Samuel citizenship…  and though we are not there yet, we are getting there..  I am so thankful we found her!

Hi Jill,

I spoke to the USCIS National Benefits Center Adoption Unit again today and they let me know that they have completed processing on Samuel’s case and it is ready to be sent to the Portland Field Office so that your family can be scheduled for an interview.  They anticipate that his case file will be sent at the beginning of next week.

After the case is received in Portland, I will be able to speak to our congressional liaison there to get you more details about how things will proceed from there.  I have been able to find out that USCIS’s goal is for all of the Category I children to have interviews at their local field offices before the current fiscal year ends on September 30^th.  So I expect that Samuel’s case should move forward fairly quickly once it arrives at the Portland office.
